At Dukes Meats LTD, food safety is a top priority. We take great care to ensure our products are handled, packed, and delivered responsibly to help maintain quality and freshness.
Packaging & Delivery
All meat products are carefully packed to help keep them at a safe temperature during transit. Orders are prepared with freshness in mind and dispatched promptly to minimise time out of temperature‑controlled conditions.
We recommend that you unpack your order as soon as possible upon delivery.
Storage Guidelines
To maintain quality and safety:
- Store chilled products in the refrigerator immediately on receipt
- Keep meat sealed and stored at 0–5°C
- Follow any use‑by dates provided
- Once opened, consume products within 24–48 hours unless otherwise stated
Freezing Advice
Most meat products can be frozen safely:
- Freeze as soon as possible after delivery
- Store at ‑18°C or below
- Once defrosted, do not refreeze
- Defrost thoroughly in the refrigerator and use within 24 hours
Handling & Preparation
To avoid cross‑contamination:
- Wash hands thoroughly before and after handling raw meat
- Keep raw meat separate from cooked or ready‑to‑eat foods
- Clean all surfaces, knives, and utensils after use
- Cook meat thoroughly according to appropriate cooking guidelines
